The Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards presented an Award of Excellence to  Greenhouse Engineering for its work on the Rideau Hall Ceremonial Greenhouses. 

The award states: "This project is an outstanding work of heritage engineering, landscape restoration and rehabilitation. The challenges of the project were met with a thoughtful respect for the heritage attributes of the Palmhouse and the other greenhouses in the complex." 

Alex Turkewitsch is a member of the Greenhouse Colocation Working Group of the Resource Innovation Institute (RII). He was recently involved in the publication of the Group’s 2025 document, “Connected Agriculture: Best Practices for Greenhouse Colocation & Resource Sharing”.

Alex Turkewitsch was recently a member of the Canadian Council of Academies’ Expert Panel on Atypical Food Production Technologies for Canadian Food Security. It was sponsored by the National Research Council Canada. In 2024, the Expert Panel's findings were published in a report entitled, The Next Course which can be downloaded here:
